Around The World For The Holidays: A Virtual Team Building Adventure

Gather your group for Around The World For The Holidays, a fast-paced and festive virtual team building adventure that will transport your team across six continents in just 60 minutes.

Hosted by “Francis P Fogg,” great-grandchild of legendary adventurer Phileas Fogg, and supported by the attentive Tech Valet, your journey begins in snowy Lapland as the International Explorers Society launches its Great Holiday Challenge.

After being divided into teams and selecting your captains, you’ll travel around the world taking on six interactive challenges created by Francis’ troublesome rival, Mr Malcolm Fix. Each destination brings a completely different game designed to test your teamwork, communication, observation, cultural knowledge, and quick thinking.

Your festive journey includes the following rounds:

• 🎄 The Great Christmas Market Feast – Munich, Germany: Match five iconic European festive foods to their countries of origin.
• 🐾 The Safari Tracks – Tanzania: Study five sets of animal footprints and identify which creatures left them behind. Expect a mixture of Serengeti wildlife and a few suspicious festive visitors.
• 🎧 Festive Voices of Asia – Jaipur, India: Listen to festive greetings and use holiday clues to identify the Asian language being spoken.
• 🇦🇺 Aussie To English – Sydney, Australia: Translate a collection of classic Australian slang terms into English before time runs out. Communication and quick thinking are essential in this fast-paced team challenge.
• 📮 The Picture Postcard Challenge – Machu Picchu, Peru: Study five postcards featuring famous South American locations and holiday traditions, then work out which country each one came from.
• 🔢 The Niagara Number Mash-Up – Niagara Falls: Your final challenge combines festive facts, geography, maths, and general knowledge into one rapid-fire calculation. There are no breakout rooms here — the first player to submit the correct answer earns a huge points bonus for their team.

Throughout this virtual festive around-the-world game, guests will not only compete and collaborate but also discover fascinating facts about global holiday traditions, foods, wildlife, languages, landmarks, and celebrations.

OUR STANDARD EVENT FORMAT:

–> Welcome and Introduction: Guests are greeted by Francis P Fogg and the Tech Valet in Lapland before teams are formed and captains selected.
–> Answer Portal Setup: Team captains sign into the live answer portal using a QR code or web link. No downloads or emails are required.
–> Round 1 – The Great Christmas Market Feast (Munich): Match famous festive foods to their European countries of origin.
–> Round 2 – The Safari Tracks (Tanzania): Identify animals from their footprints, including both local wildlife and festive intruders.
–> Round 3 – Festive Voices of Asia (India): Listen to festive greetings and use holiday clues to identify the Asian language being spoken.
–> Scoreboard Check: Midway through the adventure, teams discover where they stand on the live leaderboard.
–> Round 4 – Aussie To English (Australia): Translate Australian slang into English before the clock runs out.
–> Round 5 – Picture Postcard Challenge (Peru): Identify South American countries using landmark images and holiday clues.
–> Final Round – Niagara Number Mash-Up: Race to solve a festive number challenge for a major bonus-points opportunity.
–> Final Scoreboard and Winners Announced: Teams return to Lapland, where the final scores are revealed and the winning adventurers become honorary members of the Fogg family.

• Q: What platform is this experience run on? A: We run this festive around the world challenge on Zoom as standard, but we can also run it on MS Teams, Google Meet, and Webex. Some restrictions may apply.
• Q: Can we run this experience using our own meeting link? A: Yes, you absolutely can. While we typically provide a secure link for the virtual game, you are welcome to use your own company’s meeting link if that’s more convenient for your team.
• Q: Is this event hosted? A: Yes, every event is led by a professional host playing Francis P Fogg, who will guide your team around the world and through each challenge. An Avva Event Technician will also support all technical elements of the experience.
• Q: Is this experience suitable for global audiences? A: Yes. The experience is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for national and international teams, with challenges inspired by countries, cultures, and traditions from around the world.
• Q: Can we select the teams? A: Yes, for groups of fewer than 50, you can choose your own teams in advance or let us assign them randomly. For larger groups, teams are typically assigned randomly to keep the experience running smoothly.
• Q: How much of the experience is spent in breakout rooms? A: Around 30% of the experience is spent in breakout rooms working with your team. The remaining time is spent together as a full group.
• Q: Can this experience work for hybrid groups? A: Yes, this virtual festive game is suitable for both fully remote and hybrid teams.

• Payment is required upon confirmation of your booking. The full balance can be paid or a deposit if you are unsure on attendee numbers.

• You can change the date or time of your experience up to 14 days prior to a scheduled event based on availability.
