This immersive virtual team building experience transforms your group into a jury tasked with solving a high-profile corporate case: The People v. Vortex Technologies. Working in teams, participants will examine evidence, analyze testimonies, and ultimately decide who is responsible for a major product failure affecting hundreds of thousands of customers.

Designed as an interactive virtual courtroom experience, this event blends storytelling, critical thinking, and competitive gameplay. Teams of 3–8 players will collaborate in breakout rooms, review exhibits, and earn points based on how effectively they assess the case.

Hosted live by Judge Sidney Fairson, the experience is theatrical, witty, and highly engaging. With professional facilitation, witness testimonies, and interactive challenges, it offers a unique and memorable alternative to traditional virtual team building games.

The “Vortex Technologies Trial” Storyline…

Members of the jury, you are presiding over a high-profile case. Vortex Technologies stands accused of negligence following the launch of its smart refrigerator, affecting over 300,000 users through data breaches and health incidents.

CEO Hunter Goodman blames an external cyber attack. However, CTO Dr. Susan McGill claims warnings were ignored, while cybersecurity firm Firefence denies responsibility.

Your task is to examine the evidence and determine where responsibility lies. With conflicting accounts and multiple possible verdicts, the pressure is on to deliver justice.

OUR STANDARD EVENT FORMAT:

–> Guests join via video conference (e.g. Zoom) and are welcomed by your live host, Judge Sidney Fairson.
–> You’ll be briefed on the case before being sworn in as jurors and split into teams of 3–8 people.
–> Across four interactive rounds, you’ll analyze testimonies, review evidence, and solve themed challenges.
–> During each round, teams will spend time in breakout rooms to discuss findings and complete tasks.
–> A live scoreboard tracks performance throughout the experience.
–> In the finale, each team submits their final verdict on who is responsible.
–> The correct verdict is revealed, reasoning explained, and the winning team is announced.

• Q: What platform is this experience run on? A: We run this virtual team building experience on Zoom as standard, but we can also run it on MS Teams, Google Meet and Webex. Some restrictions may apply.
• Q: Can we run this experience on our own meeting link? A: Yes, you absolutely can. While we typically provide a secure link for the event, you are welcome to use your own company’s meeting link if that’s more convenient for your team.
• Q: Is this event hosted? A: Yes, this virtual courtroom experience is hosted by a live actor playing Judge Sidney Fairson. There will also be an Avva Event Technician supporting the technical side of your event.
• Q: Do we need to prepare anything ahead of the event? A: No preparation is required. Your guests simply join and take part.
• Q: Is this experience suitable for global audiences? A: Yes, the format is designed to be accessible and engaging for both national and international teams.
• Q: Can we select the teams? A: For groups under 50, teams can be selected by you or assigned randomly. For larger groups, teams are typically assigned randomly.
• Q: How much of the experience is spent in breakout rooms? A: Around 30% of the experience is spent in breakout rooms working as a team. The remaining time is spent together as a full group.
• Q: Can this experience work for hybrid groups? A: Yes, this experience is suitable for both fully remote and hybrid teams.
• Q: Is the content suitable for corporate events? A: Yes, this experience is designed specifically for corporate audiences. It is light-hearted, engaging, and appropriate for all groups.

• Payment is required upon confirmation of your booking. The full balance can be paid or a deposit if you are unsure of attendee numbers.

• A full refund can be made on cancellations more than 30 days prior to a scheduled event.
• You can change the date or time of your experience up to 14 days prior to a scheduled event based on availability.
